Alumna Millie Jones elected AMCHP president

Millie JonesMillie J. Jones, MPH, has been elected president of the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs’ board of directors.  AMCHP is a national resource, partner and advocate for state public health leaders and others working to improve the health of women, children, youth and families in the U.S., including those with special health care needs.
 
Jones, who received her Master of Public Health degree at Gillings School of Global Public Health in 1982, has worked in the Wisconsin Division of Public Health since 2005. There, in the Department of Health and Family Services, she assists agencies and communities in developing, implementing and evaluating maternal and child health and family planning programs.
 
Prior to attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Jones worked as a physician’s assistant at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C. She has been an active strategist and advocate in the field of maternal and child health for more than 25 years.
